Are you serious? We've followed Mike's Weather Page since it started, way before Facebook was around. I look at Mike's page for the nice aggregation of data and kept seeing how he said he was not offended so there really is no grounds at all.

Since Florence, he's also been going live a lot more frequently, showing these "scary" 10 day out or more models, focusing on areas that could, maybe, possibly develop that aren't even on the NHC's radar yet, and talking about "chatter" going on about low pressure in the gulf, and all kinds of pure speculation. I don't think Mike is really big into drama, I don't think he is trying to scare people, and I like that he gives shout outs to other weather pages too. The info the app provides used to take me 5-10 visits to other sites. I haven't bothered with that page in ages. First I don't think Mike tries to scare people.

Savannahian here. This app simplifies the page but keeps every last bit of the data. And he even says he's an arm-chair weatherman all the time and that people need to listen to the NHC before making decisions. as long as this guy is up front about how speculative or unlikely things are, it doesn't seem like a big deal.

This is a subreddit designed for all sorts of tropical cyclone weather discussion. Up to that point she had spent two days tracking a wobbly storm and dealing with a thousand comments from people who think our station was wrong because they saw a scarier model online.

I like his page to get a lot of data/models very quickly, I don't care for his blog portion, he seems to really run the 'worst case' doomsday stuff well in advance of the storms.

I hadn't heard the full story behind the Drunk Donkey shirts (I don't normally watch his Live posts on FB) but my thought here is that it can be interesting and perhaps even helpful to hear worst-case predictions, but viewers should avoid panicking due to an arm-chair weatherman's commentary. I don't think there's anything wrong with showing worst case scenarios. It is perfect, just like his site. I guess I just got so caught up in the page, I missed the obvious. My friends on Facebook are following him in droves now.
