I understand the criticism, but I think it's a hangover from the last two Matrix movies, and the House on the Lake, and, come to think of it, pretty much every other movie he has made. But I had no problem with him in this movie. There is an element of fantasy to the story that was beautifully handled and helped move the plot along without being unrealistic and it added to the over all plot line.
