Fuel EX, Remedy and Top Fuel bikes also have RE:aktiv rear shock damping. All should are very capable bikes! More shock But it was. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have the 08 Remedy 8 and have to say it is a great bike. Trek 2017, To my uneducated eye, they look almost identical! Before getting to Squamish, the bike I was more interested in, predictably, was the new Remedy. The Trek Fuel EX 130mm travel, full sus, all-rounder, trail bikes come as either 29er or as 27.5 Plus.
You won't regret it. For 2018 they are all 27.5in wheel. Remedy Enduro builds are available with a 160mm fork and SE4 tires in 2.4 width, and a more aggressive 66/65.5 degree head tube angle (High/Low) due to the longer travel fork (frame is identical). It should be good, and light, and fast. Everyone seems to be on the Remedy hype for sure.
June 2016. For the fork, Fox 34 on the Fuel vs RockShox Yari on the Slash. The Remedy seems great since it has the 140mm instead of the Fuel 120mm but I am also looking at keep this bike for awhile and want to be 100% happy. The idea is to prevent the suspension from locking up during rear braking. The Trek Remedy is the 150mm travel trail-cum-enduro bike. And, wait for it – that’s right, the reach increases from 448 to 453mm (in Low) and the BB drops slightly.
The frame is Trek’s ‘Gold Alpha’ aluminium.

The Remedy is longer (447 to 458mm for the 19.5″ frame) and lower as well (341 to 336mm). Expanded the RE:aktiv shock program to include Rock Shox, meaning more shock options and availability. For 2016, the Remedy was available at 140mm in either a 27.5 or a 29″ version. I think it numbs the riding experience quite a bit and gives you the excuse to steam roll over basic technical stuff that you would otherwise learn more technique from. Both technologies are used on Carbon and Alloy Remedy and Fuel EX for 2017.
I have ruled out the Slash, I just wanted to make sure everyone else felt the same way lol.
And as to the Remedy, it should be able to fit any shock you can throw in I am not a huge fan of climbing and I know the Remedy is suppose to be great for climbing and going through some technical sections but I am all about the DH thrill.
The geometry has changed, travel has changed. It’s a bold move by Trek but one that makes the Slash arguably the most defined model in their range. I love my fuel to pieces but sometimes I wish i had that little bit more suspension, the remedy is the way to go!
They ride pretty hard and are more into downhill stuff. The RE:aktiv 3-position damper on the Fox Factory Float shock was appreciated on long or steep climbs, but if I forgot to flick it from open, it still held me up well and felt efficient. The 2017 Trek trail bike launch brought editors to Squamish – a perfect venue for a few proper days of riding on the new Remedy and Fuel EX.
There are three electric mountain bike types: Powerfly, Powerfly FS and Powerfly LT Plus. I agree, I currently have a Marlin 7 which was great as thats what I started on and learned what I know now. Manufacturer-supplied graphs like this…well take it with a grain of salt, however, I have no reason to believe it isn’t accurate. If I were writing a TL;DR version, here you go: the 2017 Trek Remedy and Fuel EX both represent solid incremental steps forward for their respective platforms.

And remember when I said they claimed it was stiff? You may be hoping I’d say it’s not that great, overrated, or uninspiring, but that would be a lie. It’s hard not to compare them to each other – harder still because the Fuel EX was shod in very meaty 2.4″ Bontrager XR4 Team Issue tires. Stiffness. What is a bit odd, though, is that the 29″ Remedy was a great bike, and they killed it. ABP stands for Active Braking Pivot. Simplification I applaud.
If it can be used to win the enduro world series... it'll be plenty of bike for you!
I am sure all bikes are fantastic, its just a lot of money and I want to make sure I get exactly what I want. The Fuel EX is a cool bike but with the Remedy you get a stronger frame and more squish.
The head tube came down .5 degrees from 68/67.5 (High/Low) to 66.5/66 for 2017.
Yeap, we're up in your social medias too. As long as I am out in the woods and its a nice day I am happy, even happier if I am on a Remedy though haha.
According to Trek, this is part of a push to simplify the buying experience for the consumer. However, the Fuel EX was a bona fide eye opener for me.

The 160mm travel enduro racing Trek Slash range is all 29in wheels and carbon only for 2018. These are essentially super high spec models. I will most likely be riding more XC but I do love going fast DH and attempting some technical stuff. Rider height is the only thing you should really be factoring in when choosing a bike.
I can take it on Cross Country rides and not be destroyed by the climbs but it descends like a beast too. just so I understand, will this bike have a proprietary shock mount?
Here’s the chart: 2017 Trek Remedy stiffness vs old Remedy and Slash. The rides were split up so that one group of us rode Fuel EX one day, and Remedy the next, and vice versa.
