rzr 900 vs 1000
To deep on my 900 to make that choice now. JB, I also had a 800 and bought it at a real good price. I'd buy the XP41K, far superior machine in every way, I rode Frank's all day this past Sunday...Wow !! RZR has the edge I was thinking that I can prob sell it and make a good profit and buy a 900 or 1000. I have a 2016 900s 2 seater that I want out of for a 4 seat 1000 if your interested.
I have been researching the 2016 900S and the 2016 1000S. Great Videos. At that price, the 1000 is a no brainer. JavaScript is disabled. I'm guessing the 1k4 would b a lot worse with the longer wheelbase. im happy with the 900 we ride trails and i still havent bottomed it out and problably dont go past 1/2 throttle on it. When you loose so much power at high altitudes it is nice. So what Im wondering is that the 1000S is worth the more money just for power that I probably wont need?
For example, why is the Four wheel drive listed as high performance? The only difference i can find between the two is you get 25hp more with the 1000S and of course the the price is higher. we have also been looking for a toyhauler with seperate garage and most of them have a 10 or 12 garage. And I figured if I ever found myself wanting more get up and go I would just get a tuner like ive been reading about in other threads. At least some of the bolt on's could be used.

The 1000 s also features an upgraded drivetrain. With all those features listed I personally still have several questions about them. Transmission looks to be something different from the 15 1000 and 15 900 S as they all three are different part numbers. If I were buying today I feel sure I would pick the 1000S. It's a pretty big improvement over the 900s.
I love my 900S and I'm glad I made the switch. Till the shock issue is confirmed fixed and gone, i wouldnt buy any the 2 or 4 seat 1000. I think that Polaris needs to step up and at least include a plastic roof for that kind of cash. At the end of the day, the driver is still the weak link and the passenger can get out and walk!!
i think the 1000 would of been a little too long. The 1000S is the same width as the 900S. The 900 has more than enough power to handle any trails, desert or mountains we ride. Power wise the commander 1000 is better than the Polaris 900. I have seen were people are saying the 2015 900s has plenty of power for the trails and riding in the woods. I'm not sure it's 4-5 thousand better than my XP4900 though? If you step up to the Xp1000 then its 110hp. so if you want the more power and suspension i'd go for the 1000. Dependability Both have their issues. The way I look at it, the 800 is capable, the 900 is very capable and the 1000 is more than capable. The rzr handles a bit better but that is about it. Don't forget the 1000 is much much more stable due to the width, A huge plus in my book if you don't have a width restriction. I like the idea of seats, stronger steering wheel setup, power, doors, suspension, etc. What is the difference between high performance four wheel drive and the true on demand the 900 s offers. im also not the type of person to drop thousands of dollars on custom parts. The difference would buy you an enclosed dual axle trailer. So pretty much all the extras you have on the 800 wont fit the 900/1000. The different tranny and secondary clutch and the extra hp seem worth the price difference to me. I have a 900xp 4 and on Some of the rock climbs we do I get high centered quiet a bit. I have 2 S900's but I would get the S1000 because where I live and ride the extra power is always welcome. Polaris has made more improvements to the new machine like the roll cage which seemed a lot beefier, and the exhaust looked better two, the axles looked thicker also.

It has only 100 miles on it and I bought it at a really cheap price with a ton of extras. Pretty significant...but if you got the money...why not go for the best! Of course this is my first rzr so my opinion may not be worth much lol. Maybe get a 900xp? WOW what a difference between the two. My commander has almost 5K miles still running good. It's taken me 3 yrs and alot of time, work and money to get my 800 to where I want it, to start over is disheartening to say the least. Especially with the tranny and clutch (which I am assuming is better, stronger, etc than the 900???????).
