True the largest map size may not be as great as Minecraft, but MC has had many, many years to get to where it is and LW is relatively new. A lot of people compare it to Minecraft but it's honestly more like Gmod meets No Man's Sky. Because it's based on that online medium, the sets are Duplo chunky, but when kids gobble them up because of the Minecraft branding, they sit on a shelf next to Technic, or Creator, and other sets that look way, way better when they're constructed, and it opens doors for more revenue. If you've never played either, I'd 100% recommend minecraft. Controls can be a bit wonky sometimes but its so much fun to explore worlds and dungeons, find new items and characters, etc. Coop was really fun when i played it and had no issues tho single joycon wont work, each player needs 2 joycon so i just had a friend bring their controller. The only thing it has going for it is that you can explore and collect things like new mounts and characters, but that doesn't really make much of a difference when the combat is trivial and you can ride a freaking dragon. The controls are really clunky, the mechanics used for building, digging, and "scanning" are unintuitive and slow, the worlds are miniscule, and none of the quests are particularly fun.
Ive personally never been into minecraft but i liked legos and have been craving a new open world game so i got lego worlds and have been loving it. they just do absolutely nothing for me. I’ve never played Lego Worlds but reviews are looking very mixed, however I can definitely recommend minecraft it really sucks you in once you have got to grips with it. They're for the incredibly massive audience of children who are into Minecraft. Now it’s currently my second most played game at 95 hours I find it super relaxing to just sit and build in creative, then when I feel like a challenge go into my survival world. Minecraft is a more fun multiplayer game, imo. I haven't played the game for about 6 years or so, but I believe there have been many many updates. If you haven't played minecraft before then I'd highly recommend playing that.
The micro-versions were well done, but these regular-scale ones suck serious ass. Minecraft sets, on the other hand, are specifically designed to be reconstructed, changed, modified, and expanded upon (the protruding bricks from the base of the sets just screams "keep building!").
