As stated in the guide and in the comments: "Numbers before an infused weapon represents the change in AR from an un-infused version of the same weapon" thus if the number is high, you'd get a large AR increase from infusing it as listed, if it is low or negative it might have a high ranking but you'd be better off NOT infusing the weapon.

At +4, 20/20 is the breakpoint to get rid of Raw. While I found Bloodborne to be an amazing experience that drew me in & didn't let go. It's not worth infusing it with extra scaling gems(refined, heavy, sharp) because once you've made enough of a stat investment to surpass the straight raw base damage, other weapons become significantly better options, including almost every other straight sword.
